| Do your pedals have a true bypass? Yes, all OKKO pedals have a true mechanical bypass for an unaltered signal in bypass mode. Does the Diablo Gain+ have more gain than the "standard" Diablo? No. Activating the "+" mode has the same effect as turning up the gain control. If the gain control is already on maximum, the "+" doesn’t increase the gain anymore. Do you do custom work (2-in-1 pedals, different colors, other mods)? In general, no. It just takes too much time and since I have the enclosures powdercoated for me in quantities, it would be very expensive to change the design for just one single pedal. If you order 100 pedals, we can talk about it, though ;-) There’s one exception: If you play in a worship band and want the design of the Diablo changed for obvious reasons, send me a mail... |
What’s the deal with the headroom switch? Do I need a special power supply for 18V? (Diablo / TwinSonic / Dominator) The headroom switch activates an internal circuit that electronically doubles the supplied voltage DO NOT SUPPLY MORE THAN 9 volts, you may damage the pedal. (The Dominator features the same voltage doubler but is not switchable) What kind of power supply do I need? You’ll need a regulated 9VDC adapter with the 2.1 mm "barrel plug" and negative center pin (standard for the very most pedals of Boss, Ibanez, Fulltone and many other pedals). |
I accidently tried to power the pedal with AC, now it’s completely dead. Can it be fixed? This is the most common cause for defects. The protection diode burned, protecting the circuit from being damaged by the AC. If the diode is replaced, the pedal will work again. My pedal is dead / acting funny and needs to be repaired. What should I do? First, check it again. Change the cables, the power supply, check your guitar and the amp. Make sure the defect is really in the pedal. I’m serious – 50 percent of malfunctions are caused by bad cables or power supplies. If the pedal needs a repair, contact me or the dealer you bought the pedal from. Please, do not send pedals without contacting me first! |
